The Orion Detective Agency was one of many companies founded in 1990 by the eccentric mega-billionaire Andrew John Summersgill.  Andrew, who went mysteriously missing at around the same time of the appearance of the mysterious Doctor Sinister and S.INC, had made his fortune in the early 1960s by experimenting on trained anteaters – they had been trained to rob banks, and was considered a great philanthropist for many years until the discovery was made that in fact all of his many corporations had been created with one purpose in mind – to swindle money from stupid people who didn’t deserve any better.

Creating an average of twenty-five money-making companies every year is no easy task, and many of them fell by the wayside – but for Andrew, the ODA eventually proved one of the most profitable and was soon enlarged to encompass the Eye Of Orion Developments And Securities Corporation (EODASC).  Part of the enlarged group involved prison transfers – in fact many readers will recall the spectacular number of escapes - due to EODASC incompetence – of many of the greatest criminal minds ever known (many of them now running departments of S.INC). The EODASC’s involvement in UK-Government sponsored prison activities (and particularly its complete uselessness in keeping prisoners INSIDE) effectively meant that it qualified for a Government “development and training” grant – and Andrew had finally found the key to making more money than even he thought possible – PUBLIC FUNDS.

So, we should give thanks to the ODA, for it is through the ODA that S.INC was founded, and through the ODA/EODASC that our first batch of nuclear weapons were unveiled in 1998, and through the ODA that we still manage to swindle huge amounts of cash from the EEC every year to build our swimming pools and improve our secret island whilst we prepare for Armageddon…
